Flyer for Black History Showcase on February 29 at 6 P.M. in the Knight Learning Lab/Carroll 111

Greetings,

The Dean’s Student Advisory Council is pleased to invite students, faculty, staff and alumni of UNC Hussman to participate in a Black History Showcase as a culmination of Black History Month. The showcase aims to highlight the contributions and achievements of the black community. The work of both former and current MEJO students will be displayed and the community will be invited to come and view it. Additionally, the students hope to have a speaker or panel of speakers to share about their experience as a black journalism student and then as a black journalism alumni.

We are asking you to get involved through either submitting work (yours or someone’s you admire) to be showcased, or through promoting the event and encouraging attendance.

All types of media created during or after the creator’s time in the school of journalism and media are welcome for submission. The deadline to submit work is Friday, February 23rd, and we encourage as many submissions as possible. Use the QR code in the attached flyer (which can be sent out to your classes and peers) or this link to submit work.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Eleazar Yisrael (eleazar@ad.unc.edu) or Leah Moffitt (Leah.massey@unc.edu).

Thank you all in advance for supporting the efforts of these students.

Submit Work

Best,
