UNC Facilities Services and EHS Fire Safety Personnel will be conducting mandatory annual fire alarm testing in Carroll Hall on 2/20/2024.

Part of the Fire Alarm testing will include a fire drill for the occupants and visitors of the building. The fire alarm will activate and all occupants are expected to evacuate. The drill will not conclude until they have. People may only re-enter the building when the alarm is no longer sounding. Evacuation areas are 50 yards away from the building, and safe zones are into the main quad and towards Cameron Avenue.

In accordance with State Fire Code, we are unable to provide an exact time for the audible drill and will no longer be providing posters for occupant notification except in special circumstances. (NC Fire Prevention Code 405.4; Drills shall be held at unexpected times and under varying conditions to simulate the unusual conditions that occur in case of fire.) A reminder will be sent out one day prior to the fire drill.

Please let Colin Stepien know if you have any questions or concerns.
